Kidney Health Screenings/Other Screening Events

Kidney Health Workshops
UMCP is proud to have hosted kidney health workshops with various community partners. The goal of these workshops is to educate the community about aspects of chronic kidney disease including prevention, screening, and disease progression. These workshops are completely student-led. Our health education members create the content, lead the presentation, and answer questions with the help of a nephrologist. Some of our past workshops have been with the African American Health Program and the National Kidney Foundation: Your Kidneys and You Event.
General Body Meetings

Other Events
We highly encourage our members to attend events where they can learn more about kidney health, be exposed to experts in the field of nephrology and medicine, and learn valuable leadership skills. For the past year, we have partnered with the University of Medicine School of Medicine Department of Nephrology to offer our members to sit in on weekly renal lectures and renal rounds.
We also host tabling events on campus to increase the awareness of our organization, reach potential new members, and increase awareness of the prevalence of chronic kidney disease. These events are student-run and are planned and executed by our programming committee.
